If you are not in relationship but you want to be, don’t worry.

If you are worried that love is not in the cards for you or you’re wondering why you  haven’t met “The One” yet, there is probably a good reason.

It’s not you, it’s the what you’re doing… or not doing!

Here are the 5 most common reasons you are probably still single.

Do any of these sound like you?

1.You are not putting yourself out there. Many of you tried online dating for a few months, went to a few meet-ups or went out on a few dates. It did not go the way hoped or you had a “bad experience” so you gave up or became really discouraged. You also don’t have a plan- a system for meeting Mr. Right.

2. The men you like aren’t interested in you. When you meet someone you like it is easy to become nervous. You either shut down and act disinterested or you try too hard and become the pursuer. And you take it personally when someone you are interested in does not reciprocate your feelings.

3. You don’t really know what you require in a relationship. If you feel that you would never date a man from your gym or you would never date a man without a college degree or you must date a man who loves sports, you end up place limitations on someone who would otherwise be very compatible. You don’t know what characteristics you actually need for in a long term partner.

4. You’re making snap judgments about someone. Many of you decide after one date he is just not right for you, or you feel you are not attracted to him because he says something that you don’t like. Or maybe he is a little awkward or too eager and it turns you off so you blow him off.

5. You don’t want to take the time to date. Date can be a four letter word and it can seem discouraging going out with different men who you are not interested in. Finding a relationship with someone can take time and commitment. You are not putting in the time to date and improve your dating skills to help you find someone you really like.

If you want to be in a relationship, you need to commit to making dating a priority.

And you need to be resourceful about how you date and find the best way to meet men that works for you.

But most importantly, you must not give up.

Achieving your ideal relationship is a marathon, not a sprint.

So make that commitment to date for relationship!

Participate in activities and interests where you can meet new people.

Have friends who are happily married or in a loving relationship? Ask them to introduce you to their single friends.

Take that vacation or go on that trip.

Whatever you do – don’t give up.

And don’t be afraid to ask for help.
